Our Right to Live on a Healthy Planet

House Samyan, Bangkok | 9 - 12 December 2022

Human Rights Day is 10 December 2022, and Thailand will be observing it through the lens of our environment and the threat of climate change.

From 9 to 12 December 2022 at House Samyan, the EU Delegation to Thailand (EUD) will partner with human rights and environmental policy agencies of the Royal Thai Government to host a series of film screenings under the title ‘Our Right to Live on a Healthy Planet’.

Free and open to the public, four European and Thai documentary films curated by Documentary Club will share riveting stories that lay bare the ways in which environmental degradation and climate change have been encroaching on the rights of indigenous people, local communities, and natural resources.

The EU Ambassador to Thailand and representatives from the Rights and Liberties Protection Department (RLPD) and Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning (ONEP) will preside at the opening reception on Friday, 9 December 2022, where EU Member State diplomats, policymakers, members of local civil society, media, and the Thai public will attend.

Support for the event takes a stand against the environmental and human rights abuses caused through many of our industrial and business practices.

The event is a reflection of the EU’s role as a key human rights supporter in Thailand and worldwide, and is one of many contributions to the EU Action Plan on Human Rights and Democracy.

Seating is limited and instructions on how to reserve tickets in advance will be announced in the coming days on the EUD’s Facebook page.
