EU-Philippine panel to strategize revitalization of trade and investment in post-pandemic era

Ayala Museum, Makati | 22 November 2022

EU and Philippine business leaders are poised to convene at a national forum in Makati, to explore strategies for sustainable growth through strategic partnerships.

On 22 November 2022, the EU Delegation to the Philippines (EUD) will facilitate a panel at the Pilipinas Conference – an annual flagship event of think tank Stratbase ADR Institute – on ‘Balancing Recovery with Progressive Development Through Global Cooperation’.

The discussions among heads and executives from the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, EU-ASEAN Business Council and Philippine industry associations aim to support the Philippines and ASEAN in repairing their economies as disrupted by COVID-19.

Part of the conference segment focused on business value creation and inclusive growth, the two-hour session will share EU perspectives on increasing connectivity, improving the business environment and attracting trade and investment from overseas. Panellists will also discuss how to enhance interregional partnerships on infrastructure and supply chain strategies affected by climate change.

The conference comes at an opportune time, with a new Philippine administration faced with critical decisions for market-oriented reform and good governance, alongside a private sector ready to drive the next stage of national development through export-led growth. Insights are anticipated on plans and policies the Philippine Government can implement to remedy economic downturn and position the nation as a progressive and viable market through accessible trade and investment, environmental sustainability, an adaptive labor market and improved quality of life.

HE Luc Véron, EU Ambassador to the Philippines, will open the session with a keynote address on ‘Opportunities for Increased Connectivity and Development’.

The panel will take place at Ayala Museum from 12.30 to 14.30 and also broadcast live via Zoom, and online registration can be made here.
