EU-ISIS Thailand Public Forum Series: A geopolitical policy knowledge exchange
Thailand | Launched on 6 September 2022
The EU Delegation to Thailand (EUD), in collaboration with the Institute of Security and International Studies of Thailand *(ISIS Thailand), is offering a series of six public forums in pursuit of an exchange of ideas and sharing of values. Forums will explore geopolitical themes such as: geoeconomics, autocracy and democratisation, civil-military relations, younger demographics and political activism, human rights and fundamental freedoms.
The series aims to raise awareness around the European Union (EU)’s strategic priorities in the region. University students with an interest in international relations and domestic politics are invited to attend as well as researchers, academics, policymakers, senior civil servants, opinion leaders, political influencers, and journalists.
The series was launched with the first talk: ‘Myanmar’s Coup and Civil War After 19 Months: Political Dynamics, Battlefield Update, Likely Outcomes’ on 6 September 2022 at Chulalongkorn University.
The second forum is tentatively scheduled for November 2022. The event will be a lead up to the first-ever EU-ASEAN Commemorative Summit, to celebrate 45 years of dialogue and partnership between the EU and ASEAN countries.
Public forums 2 - 6 will be live streamed via ISIS Thailand Facebook.
To be a part of the dynamic discussion and learn more about the shifting geopolitical climate, you are invited to attend all forums. For more information, follow EUD’s Facebook.
Online articles to summarise key discussion at the forum will also be produced and disseminated in partnership with 101 World, so stay tuned here to check those out!
