EU at Your School
Singapore | 25 March – 31 July 2022
More than 10,000 students aged 13 to 20 from 30 Singapore education institutions will participate in the third edition of the 'EU at Your School' project to learn more about the bilateral relationship between the European Union (EU) and Singapore.
Ambassadors and diplomats from the EU Delegation to Singapore (EUD) and EU Member States (EUMS) will visit education institutions over the next four months to give talks on topics including the role the EU plays today, post-pandemic recovery, and key global trends such as climate change, environmental sustainability and digitalisation.
Organised by the EUD in partnership with EUMS and Singapore's Ministry of Education (MOE), the activity was officially launched on 25 March at Queensway Secondary School. During the opening session, H.E. Iwona Piórko, EU Ambassador to Singapore, interacted with students at Queensway Secondary School, learning more about its environment and sustainability initiatives, as well as the institute's ongoing work with the National Junior College on sustainable food production.
The project, which is set to welcome the largest number of student participants since its inception in 2019, contributes to the MOE's 21st Century Competencies initiative by supporting the development of global awareness and cross-cultural skills. It also encourages students to appreciate different cultures and languages by introducing them to the diversity of European countries.
