Institute for Housing & Urban Development Studies (IHS)
The Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) is an education, advisory and research institute which falls under the Erasmus University Rotterdam. For 60 years, it has been our mission to develop human and institutional capacities, reduce poverty and improve the quality of life in cities.
The MSc in Urban Management and Development is a 12-month English-taught programme offered in six specialisation tracks. This structure allows IHS students to specialise within their chosen field whilst benefiting from a broader understanding of sustainable urban management offered at IHS.

FAQs
Does IHS offer scholarships?
IHS does not offer any scholarships, however, you are more than welcome
to apply for fellowships by other funding bodies for which the IHS programmes
are eligible for. You will find a non-exhaustive list on our website.
Where can I check the admission requirements?
You can check IHS’ requirements on this page. More specific information on our Master programme requirements can be found here by choosing the Master track you are most interested in.
Are there any registration fees?
Applying to IHS is free and no registration fees apply.
Can I submit my application with missing documents?
You can submit your application if you are missing a document, but in certain fields, you will need to upload something in order to move on to the next section. Our Academic Selection Committee will contact you if we see that your application is missing something so that we can fully assess your application.
Can I cancel my enrollment if I change my mind?
