University offers 5 bachelor’s degrees and 7 master's degrees covering the fields of architecture, design, fashion, visual arts, urban planning, and theatre. Two of our Master Degree Programmes are entirely taught in English. In addition, Iuav offers advanced specialization courses and PhDs.
Iuav collaborates with international cultural institutions and universities to impart a modern, updated education for a globalized world. Students can attend workshops and seminars taught by visiting scholars, professionals, and specialists who are part of the International Exchange Programmes, in partnerships with 130 European universities and 60 non-EU institutions and universities. For the final module, students will be given the possibility to study abroad within the Erasmus+ program in order to complete their thesis.

FAQs
Which are the admission requirements for a bachelor’s degree programme at Iuav?
To be admitted to Iuav bachelor’s degree programmes (corsi di laurea), you shall possess a high school (secondary school) diploma, and have attended at least 12 years of schooling in total. All specifics are available in the “Admission requirements” section of each call for applications.
Applicants to programmes with limited positions are also required to take an admission test which will assess their preparation. For more information, check each call in the Apply section.
Which are the admission requirements for a master’s degree programme at Iuav?
To be admitted to Iuav master’s degree programmes (corsi di laurea magistrale), you should have an undergraduate background in the same field of studies and a valid language certificate (if required for the chosen programme ). All specifics are found in the “Admission Requirements” in each call for applications.
When and how should I start my application?
Iuav has only one intake per year, for the first semester starting in October.
Applications usually open 10-11 months before lectures start (January/February) for English-taught programmes and 4-5 months before (May/June) for Italian-taught programmes.
Applications must be submitted exclusively online on the Iuav Student Web Service, after having carefully read the call for applications for the programme you intend to apply to.
Do I need to pay an application fee?
To submit your application, you need to pay a non-refundable application fee of €30 - €55, according to the chosen degree programme. Submitted applications will be assessed for admission only once the application fee payment is received, otherwise, they will be rejected.
When do lectures start?
The first semester lectures at Iuav start at the beginning of October. The second semester starts at the beginning of March.
Are there going to be online lectures for international students?
At the moment, most activities are held in person, so students are recommended to arrive in Italy at least one week before the starting date of lectures.
The presence of extra online activities will depend on the development of the COVID pandemic situation.
How much are the fees for one academic year?
For bachelor’s and master’s degrees the maximum annual fee amount is around €2.800,00, split into 3 instalments. The exact amount is defined each year with a specific deliberation.
Which scholarships are offered by Iuav?
Iuav offers merit-based scholarships (Study@Iuav scholarship) for international students depending on academic performance. All international students can apply by following the instructions available on this page.
Students can also apply for regional scholarships, which are grants based on income and academic performance. They are assigned through a yearly call.
The Italian Government also offers some scholarships for international talented students.
