EU, Thailand to assess one year into Russia’s war in Ukraine above and on the ground

With Russia’s invasion of Ukraine now into its second year, the European Union (EU) and Thailand are examining the latest developments on the ground along with their social and economic impacts to the Ukrainian people.

In the fourth talk of the public forum series jointly hosted by the EU Delegation to Thailand (EUD) and think tank Institute of Security and International Studies (ISIS Thailand), ‘Russia’s War against Ukraine at One Year: Assessing the Ongoing Situation from Above and on the Ground’ will look at how the EU and NATO have made progress to deter further aggression by Russia, along with the strategic considerations, implications of NATO membership for Finland and Sweden.

Hosted on the campus of Chulalongkorn University, the on-site event will take place Tuesday, 25 April 2023 from 10.30 to 12.00 in the Social Innovation Hub Room (1F) of the Visid Prachuabmoh Building.

The talk will bring together the EU and Swedish Ambassadors to Thailand, a former Thai Foreign Minister and a leading Thai journalist who will be joining from Ukraine, alongside scholars from Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Political Science.
