THEMATIC AREAS
The EU works with citizens and partners across ASEAN and beyond to tackle global challenges that require collective action, with the aim towards long-term engagement, trust and mutual understanding and future cooperation. To foster the development of local and regional partnerships, it has developed a broad range of initiatives in the form of people-to-people exchanges and networking opportunities involving students, academics, youth groups, think tanks, media, business communities, civil society and cultural professionals.
The EU’s flagship local and national initiatives throughout ASEAN are organised by EU Delegations and focus on the key areas of arts and culture; education, research and innovation; environment and climate change; EU-ASEAN; human rights; Indo-Pacific; and trade.
