Study in Europe returns in hybrid format for 5 000 participants across Vietnam
The EU’s annual event for higher education in Europe draws record-breaking participation since the fair’s introduction in 2014.
With the return to normalcy amidst the pandemic, the EU Delegation to Vietnam (EUD) resumed its on-site Study in Europe fair, with half-day events in Hanoi (2 October 2022) and Ho Chi Minh City (9 October 2022) along with openly accessible content online. With the theme of ‘Study in Europe – Open your mind’, this year’s fair showcased a range of academic opportunities across 15 EU Member States: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden.
Exhibitors engaged with 1 700 participants in person and another 3 300 online, promoting study and scholarship opportunities throughout the EU. Vietnamese alumni of Erasmus+ – the EU’s flagship programme that funds youth exchanges, internships and other activities in Europe – shared tips on applying for scholarships and on maximising one’s experience in Europe.
This year, 40 Vietnamese Master’s students were awarded scholarships to study at 15 European countries under Erasmus+. With these recipients, the programme has supported a total of 237 exchange students from Vietnam since 2014.
Organised under the Team Europe spirit, Study in Europe as a public diplomacy initiative brings Vietnamese youth face-to-face with the EU and EU Member State representatives in Vietnam to acquire information on world-class academic institutions in Europe.
For nearly a decade, the fair has contributed to the development of Vietnam’s young generation as key future contributors to the nation’s productivity and targets to reach upper middle-income status by 2035 and high-income status by 2045.
Through its presence online and in social media, Study in Europe has reached more than 1.6 million people and has around 12 500 registered users: http://studyineurope.com.vn
