In celebration of Europe Day and the 70th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, EU Ambassador to Vietnam H.E. Mr Giorgio Aliberti appeared on state broadcasting network Vietnam TV (VTV) on 10 May 2020 to highlight the EU’s long history of solidarity and its commitment to address global challenges.

The 30-minute programme titled EU – 70 Years of Sustainable Core Values, hosted by popular media personality Ms Vu Phuong Huyen, also featured Vietnam’s former Ambassador to the EU H.E. Mr Vuong Thua Phong.

The guests discussed how the EU tackles challenges like COVID-19 and Brexit while maintaining its core values, along with the close relationship between the EU and Vietnam.

Reaching a TV audience of approximately 848 000 people, and more than 35 000 on social media, the coverage has helped to enhance public understanding of the EU-Vietnam partnership that has involved cooperation on a range of areas including economic development, trade, sustainable and green economy, and peace keeping since 1990.
