EU Scholarships Campaign in Thailand connects youth to prominent alumni
Three-month multimedia Erasmus+ and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions push a big hit with Thai students
The “Promoting EU Scholarships & Alumni Networks in Thailand” campaign returned in 2021 to present Erasmus+ and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), two of Europe's most prestigious study programmes to the nation's youth.
Conducted by the EU Delegation to Thailand (EUD) with support from the National Science and Technology Development Agency of Thailand and EURAXESS ASEAN, the three-month campaign from May to July introduced the programmes to students and young professionals.
In a podcast series that reached almost 10,000 viewers, 13 prominent Thai alumni shared their insights and experiences of studying in Europe and the benefits of applying for the EU scholarship programmes.
Erasmus+, the EU's programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe, places a strong focus on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life. MSCA, meanwhile, is its flagship programme for doctoral and postdoctoral training, equipping researchers with new knowledge and skills through overseas study opportunities and exposure to different sectors and disciplines.
Local media website The Momentum published four articles (in Thai) to support the campaign, which can be read in full here, here, here and here.
The campaign was one of the EU's most significant digital activities in Thailand to date, reaching about 1.8 million people.
